Strictly kicks off this weekend!

The show, which is about to go into its 16th season, features 15 celeb contestants who will compete to lift the glitterball trophy this Autumn. Strictly will also feature same-sex professional dancer pairings this year making the show more diverse than ever.

Strictly Come dancing kicks off with a pre-recorded episode this weekend, Saturday 9 September on BBC1.

There is the usual mix of singers, actors, TV presenters and sportspeople - and this year the show will get its first YouTuber.

Here are some of the contestants … Katie Piper ex-model and author, Faye Tozer former Steps singer, Danny John-Jules actor from Red Dwarf SciFi TV Servies, Joe Sugg Youtuber, England cricket bowler Graeme Swann, Dr Ranj Singh This Morning resident doctor, Stacey Dooley TV journalist, Vick Hope co presents Sky One’s Carnage, Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts, TV stylist Susannah Constantine, Blue singer Lee Ryan, BBC News presenter Kate Silverton.

Strictly fans are already looking forward to Strictly Come Dancing 2018 last years Strictly Come Dancing’s final achieved 2017’s highest overnight ratings.

A massive 11.6 million viewers tuned in to watch as Joe McFadden was crowned the winner of the BBC dance competition.

It will undoubtedly attract a huge viewing audience. This years line up is less celeb orientated so the jury is out on how it will perform. Its a tough act to follow.

Presentation is everything and we are sure that the producers of the show will twist and bend the performers to create a spectacular show. The show will open with a spectacular red carpet event as the Strictly family dance to a medley of Nile Rodgers' greatest hits performed by Chic and the man himself. While later in the show Craig David and Stefflon Don will join Nile and Chic to perform their new single.

Its going to be fun and as usually we will see how the contestants improve their dancing skills each week.

The contestants will dance to the traditional dance styles, Charleston, salsa, waltz, pasadobly, cha cha cha, American smooth, Foxtrot, Tango, Jive, who knows year maybe a bit of hip hop or street to attract a younger viewing audience.
