A breakdown of Strictly Come Dancing's opening show

Strictly returned to our screens on Saturday night and it was just as lavish, glamorous and star-studded as we could have hoped! It was bigger and better than ever before, with a whopping 10 million people tuning in to watch the first show.

Our breakdown of the opening show...

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are back and will be guiding us through this years judging, offering support, smiles and reassurance to our celebs along the way.

The judging panel is also the same as last year, seeing Craig Revel-Horwood, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas all sat side by side at their glittering judge's table, looking lively and happy to be back for yet another year.

As it was the opening show, all dancing couples were able to stay and fight it out again until next week... when one of our couples must sadly go home.

Who's our favourite of the week... and who do we think is in trouble?

Youtuber Joe Sugg and his partner Dianne Buswell stole the show with a total score of 27 - not bad for the first night!

Dancing the Jive to the 80's classic 'Take On Me' saw Dianne in an embellished pink dress, with a fun nod to the 80's with her crimped hairstyle. Joe was in a very groovy purple suit, with a pink and red patterned shirt beneath it, matching his partners dress and hair perfectly.

Bruno, who gave them a score of 7 said "Tonight has been a night of surprises and you were the biggest one - I had no idea you could actually come out here and do something like that. I wasn't expecting it."

On the other hand, the couple we think could be in trouble next week are television presenter Susannah Constantine and her partner Anton Du Beke.

Dancing to 'Tico Tico' by Carmen, they tried their hand at the Samba. Both in bright orange, they started the dance with Anton appearing from within her skirt and while Susannah looked like she was having a fantastic time... the judges were not so forgiving.

Craig, who scored them a disappointing 1, said "I thought you were staggering about, lost and drunk at a party. The best part for me was when you fell on the floor at the end."

All in all the opening night was just as we hopped. Full of smiles, laughter and we can't wait for what is to come in the following weeks.
